Hey Curtis:
Nina here... loved the note you got... and I have a simple idea for
you. Why don't you record a personal greeting for the graduate...
maybe
some advice as she enters the culinary world. Since she has a lot of
respect for you, I bet she'd really enjoy it!
Curtis:
Too bad they don't live in my cable system. I would give them a discount
on
services, but my suggestion would be an autographed picture of her
favorite
chef! :)

Curtis--
you should obviously send your cookbooks-specially autographed for the
mother
and then drop a note to all your Food Network chef buddies who have books
and
ask
them to sign one each for the mother.
that way you've created a library of very special cookbooks for her
throw in a toque & an apron
good luck-cheers-rl
Big C-
Happy New Year you wonderful man!!!!!!
Could you get Food Network involved in this?
It would be good "PR" for them.
Perhaps contact the j heinkle company or caphalon... bon appetite
magazine.....you
MUST know someone.
It would be incredible if you could get her on one of the shows on the
Food
Network...if it
comes down to $...let me know and I'll pitch in.
wonderful to hear from you!!!!!
Heather
Dear Curtis,
About the writer and her mom: Both should be rewarded, yes. I wonder: have
you e-mailed any cable connections you might have in the Houston area?
Maybe
there will be some Food Network function you can get her into.
Are your shows on tape? Maybe a few strings (that I could easily pull)
could
get copies?? Signed book at minimum?
Love,
Colleen
Dear Curtis:
How about a visit from you for that wonderful lady!
Best always,
Shirley C.
Curtis,
My immediate thought is that maybe they could give her a lunch w/you. You
probably go to New Orleans at least once a year for something work-related
and if they're willing to fly her there for a conference they should be
willing to fly her there or even someplace else close that you might be)
to
meet you. Perhaps you could work in a lunch w/this woman, who sounds like
a
great, inspirational mom. They could give her a card w/a
"coupon" in it for
the lunch meeting and then arrange for the actual date when you find out
your schedule. That way you aren't out any money and the woman can meet
her
idol. Win-win.
Deena
Curtis,
How about a set of knives or maybe a little weekend with Curtis? How about
setting up an
internship with some chef you know? Wow!
Vix
Curtis,
It sounds to me like the most special thing to do would be to pay this
woman
a visit and cook with her for the day!
She has really worked hard and that would really make it pay off!!!
Lots of love,
Jill
Dear Curtis
Why don't they send their Mom to a Cooking Across America event or if this
is
too
expensive, how about buying all your cookbooks and you could autograph
them
for her.
Alan
Curtis--
I would think about maybe a new set of chef pans (All-Clad...) or maybe
some
other items she might need to get started in her new career.
Dear Curtis,
What a great story!! The neatest thing she could get is a big hug
from you!
Too bad you can't swing a trip to wherever she is and combine it with
business or something!!
Love,
Chatty -- your loving sister!
Curtis,
Wow - what a great story! My initial thought is to find out her
mom's name
and send her a personalized copy of your book. I'll keep thinking of
other
ideas. Hugs. Lori
Curtis:
Maybe send her an autographed book and call her on her
birthday.
All the best,
Rick
Curtis-
She could give her Mom some great chef uniforms from Chefwear! I
could
arrange to do special very low prices so they could get her a lot of
stuff!
Love,
Rochelle
